Job hopping?

What did your parents tell you? Grow up.. study hard, get a good job.. and hope you stay there for the rest of your working career. THAT DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE.
The longer you stay at a company, the more they take you for granted. More work piles on because you’re the only one who knows the processes in and out. Yeah, sure.. the boss will say, “But that’s because we trust you!” What he really means is, “SUCKER!!”
Are you feeling used? Or unappreciated perhaps? Sure.. you can tell the boss and he’ll say, “We’re doing something about it.” But can you wait? Or is he even doing anything about it apart from just saying so?
But anyway.. I digress. Point is.. it’s an employee’s market out there! There are jobs to be had which offer far more (apart from the usual salary perks) such as challenges, training and career progression. Keep in mind.. sooner or later, you’ll still be feeling used or unappreciated. And when that happens… HOP AGAIN!

Be careful how you hop though. I used to be critical of those calculative fags in school and uni who were intent on collecting certificates and such.
Now I know why. It’s an image world out here. People only trust paper, not people.
So when you hop, make sure you have either spent a significant amount of time at one company, or be ready to explain away the 1-year, or 1-month stint at this or that company.
The ones that work best for me is that, “At the time, I had no commitments, and was ready to try something new. So, I quit my job and helped a friend out at his company. He needed someone to fill in for awhile”,
and,
“I was doing freelance work during this period. It was fun, but the inconsistency of the effort, time and money made me think of planning for the future. That’s why I’m here. I think the stability of your organisation can give me that future”,
and my favourite,
“from the moment I stepped into the office on the first day, I knew I was going to be a scapegoat for something, so I got the hell out of there”
Wahahahahahahahahahahiskers no more.

Blind loyalty means nothing….
PS: Job hopping is one of the quickest way to get a pay raise — only if you know how to ask for it!
Another thing…not all employees ask about the duration you worked in a company.
