Looking for an affordable zoom lens? Ever considered using a manual focusing zoom? If you have, then take a look at Todd Owyoung’s review on the Nikon 75-150mm ƒ/3.5 Series E which dates back to the 1980s.
Would I consider one? Probably… The lack of AF is a concern though, and it would be useful to have a camera with a good clear viewfinder. Todd was testing it using his D7000 and found the lens to be more than usable. The fact that you have to focus manually may even change the way you approach photography altogether.
